Why doesn't my hot text formatting appear in the guide?

Assuming you have indicated hot text by underlining or some other style change in the text, the most common reasons for its not appearing are:

Your source files are in a format whose styling GuideMaker doesn't retain. For the best results, save your panel source files in Microsoft Word 5.0 or MacWrite II format, and make sure the appropriate XTND translators are installed so GuideMaker will be able to read them. The format definition for your panel text contains a style, which is overriding any styles you've inserted in your source files. Check your source files for a line that looks like:

  <define format> "Body", Column(6,65,330), "Espy Serif", 10, PLAIN, BLACK, LEFT, TRUE
```
For each format in which you're using hot text, remove the word PLAIN in the fifth parameter, leaving it blank. This will prevent GuideMaker from overriding your styles.
